Tentative Series Name:
I want to capture the eerie and disconnected feeling that liminal spaces offer up. Liminal spaces are places like gas stations in the middle of the night. Grocery stores that are empty. Abandoned buildings and places, and other locations in which you feel you shouldn’t be there at a specific time, or during a specific situation even though it’s allowed.
Why is this topic important to you? What do you want other people to understand? What do you hope this series will accomplish?
I hope to bring a sort of fascination and understanding to what liminal spaces are and how they can affect the human mind. This topic is important to me because I’ve always enjoyed being interested in liminal spaces and what makes a space fit this description. I want other to learn about them too as they are unique and sometimes few and far between. I fully want to capture the unease and uncomfortable atmosphere that comes with these spaces.
Any special conditions, equipment, or techniques needed?
I’m not too sure how to shoot at night quite yet, but I assume I’ll need some lighting equipment (battery powered) and a tripod.
Output Method and Size:
I would like to make a Zine out of these photos, but do a larger size zine perhaps 8×10
