Foundation of America
For the series I want to do candid portraits of construction workers as they work.
How will you execute the idea?
I intend to focus on environmental portraits or maybe candid portraits of them in their field, using natural light. This will probably have medium and close up images.
Why is this topic important to you? What do you want other people to understand? What hope will this series accomplish?
I come from a line of construction workers, so I have been told how tough it is to work out in the field, and I feel that in at least America, construction workers don’t get the recognition that they deserve. I want people to understand that this line of work that people take for granted is hard and I want to show what these workers put themselves through just so we can have our buildings, streets, and masonry work. I hope that this will make people appreciate all of the blood, sweat, and tears that these workers put in, and also don’t under-appreciate this line of work.
Any Special conditions, equipment, or techniques needed?
I don’t believe that I will need anything special, just the sunlight.
Output Method and Size:
For right now I plan to go with an 8×12 print, thought this might be subject to change. I want it to focus on what I am taking pictures of with a decent amount of background detail, once again this might be subject to change.
