For this exercise, I went to Claremont Photo, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. The professionally printed photo, done at Claremont Photo, was by far the best print. The color was rich and most accurate to the screen picture; in addition, the paper it was printed on was not flimsy, like the Walgreens print, and included a slight texture due to the luster paper. I will most likely go to Claremont Photo for my other projects this quarter, and due to the accurate quality, I will not have to greatly adjust my setting during the editing process.
For my traditional still life, I’d like to focus on silverware. I’d like to focus on experimenting with black and white after being inspired from the reference photographs I found. For my product still life, I’ll be focusing on the product of Lipton Tea, specifically hot tea, as opposed to cold tea. I want to create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, probably with the help of lighting from typical household light bulbs (using the tungsten white balance). For my food still life, I’ll focus on Huevos Rancheros. I want to photograph Huevos Rancheros because they always have nice reds and they’re very delicious.
